BelovED Honors Ms. Hernandez with a Special Tribute on February 5th

BelovED Community Charter School is coming together to honor the memory of Luz Hernandez who passed away in 2023. Ms. Hernandez was an adored teacher who touched the hearts of her scholars and colleagues alike. Ms. Hernandez was a shining example of what it means to be a dedicated educator and a loving mother. Her kindness, warmth, and passion for teaching will never be forgotten.

To remember Ms. Hernandez, all members of the BelovED community are invited to participate in a special themed event. On Monday, February 5th, please wear RED in her honor. For those participating in the dress down, we are asking for a donation of $1.00 or more, with all proceeds going towards Sarah's Daughters, a local non-profit organization that provides education and support to women and families in need. For more information regarding this organization, please check out: https://sarahsdaughtersdva.org/.

Furthermore, BelovED is collecting classroom supplies for Luz’s Closet, located in room 208 of the 2nd floor in the main building. This space is dedicated to Ms. Hernandez and serves as a testament to her selflessness and generosity. Please feel free to donate classroom supplies to support Luz’s Closet by completing this google form: Luz's Closet Donation Form

As we reflect on the life and legacy of Ms. Hernandez, let us also take a moment to appreciate the impact that she had on our lives. Through her dedication and passion, she inspired us to be our best selves and to always strive for excellence. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
